Why Choose New Roots Glynn?

The pathway to recovery can feel overwhelming, lonely, and unattainable—but it doesn’t have to be a journey traveled alone. At New Roots Glynn, our mission is to make sure that everyone seeking recovery, maintaining it, or supporting a loved one in recovery, has access to the resources, support, and community they need.

We Eliminate Stigma

New Roots Glynn is a Recovery Community Organization dedicated to eliminating the stigma surrounding addiction. Our founder, Heather Woodard, knows firsthand the challenges of recovery and is committed to ensuring that no one has to face them in isolation. “I have been there myself,” she shares, “and I’ve come out on the other side with the help and guidance of others. That’s why New Roots Glynn exists—so that anyone seeking recovery can find the support they deserve.”

What We Offer

We provide a variety of classes, groups, meetings, and one-on-one check-ins to help guide you on your personal path to recovery and wellness. Here, you’ll find:

Recovery Coaching

One-on-one mentorship for personal recovery journeys.

Support Meetings

A wide range of meetings for all pathways to recovery, including 12-steps, faith-based, All Recovery, and Dharma.

Community Space

Access to computers and printers for resume building, job searches, and community resources.

Creative and Recreational Activities

From art therapy and fitness classes to casual games of ping pong, we create a welcoming environment for everyone.

Rooted in Strength

Inspired by the Southern Live Oak, our community is deeply rooted in recovery. Just as the oak’s strong roots hold fast against the storms, New Roots Glynn provides strength and stability to those in recovery. Our branches extend to offer support, shelter, and a safe space for growth.

Community at the Core

Recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all. At New Roots Glynn, we celebrate all pathways to recovery and believe that no matter your journey, you deserve a supportive and inclusive community. Whether you are just starting out, looking for a peer to share your experiences, or searching for resources across the state, we’re here to help.

  • Meetings that allow you to share, listen, and grow.
  • Peer support from individuals who’ve sustained long-term recovery.
  • Job and life resources to help rebuild after addiction.

We also host and participate in local events, like the Georgia Recovery Bus Tour, providing opportunities for the community to engage with recovery without stigma.

Supporting Our Mission

New Roots Glynn operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, relying on grants and the generosity of our community. Because all of our peer support services are offered at no cost, we rely heavily on donations to continue our work and ensure there’s no delay in getting individuals into treatment or providing vital services.

Monetary Donations

Your financial support helps us fill the gaps between funding periods.

Tangible Donations

Supplies like paper products, coffee, arts and crafts materials, or office supplies are always appreciated.
