At New Roots Glynn, we offer a wide range of support meetings designed to meet the unique needs of individuals and families in our community. From creative expression to faith-based gatherings, fitness, and traditional recovery meetings, our goal is to create a safe, supportive space for everyone, no matter where you are in your recovery journey.

One on One Check-ins
Who: Anyone in recovery, seeking recovery or supporting recovery
New Roots Glynn is led by peers in sustained long-term recovery from substance use disorder. We are here to offer check-ins, but not to counsel. We believe recovery should be self-directed and are here to support your journey.

Who: Anyone
If you are in need of a confidential, in-home consultation or support, or in search of a recovery coach to accompany you to an errand or event, we are available to help.

Food Pantry and Monthly Giveaway
Where: Mary Ross Park, downtown Brunswick

We have a food giveaway on the last Thursday of each month at Mary Ross Park at 11am until it’s gone.
If you need help in between those times, we have a food pantry at our office, by appointment only. Please call 912-217-0573 to make an appointment for a pick up.
Yoga – All levels
Wind down on Mondays with Chair Yoga facilitated by Anne G.
Anyone can do this, you don’t even have to change your clothes!
Yoga improves flexibility, strength and balance. Improves bone health, reduces pain and risk of heart disease.
It aids in stress reduction, improved mood and mental clarity and sleep.
Yoga encourages mindfulness and introspection, leading to a deeper understanding of oneself.
MasterClass: Small Habits that Make a Big Impact on Your Life (2-part class)
Who: Anyone
Join us as we host this exciting learning opportunity! Learn how to build habits that stick and help you make progress toward your goals every day.
This class is offered in two parts and we are offering it twice. Attend May 5 & 12, or May 19 & 26.

All Recovery Meeting
Who: Anyone seeking recovery support
An All-Recovery format, inclusive of all pathways to recovery.
Talk openly about what you’re working on or want support with. Anyone in recovery, seeking recovery or supporting recovery is welcome to join us.
This is not a 12-step meeting – it is an open discussion format with no topic excluded (unless offensive to others) cross-talk/giving feedback is okay and referring to any substances is okay.
NAMI Family Support Group
Who: Family, partners, and friends of individuals with a mental health diagnosis.
NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Golden Isles is a grassroots, self-help, support, education and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by serious mental illness and their friends/families.
We offer this weekly support group for family members, significant others, and friends of individuals with a mental health diagnosis.
Buddhism
Who: Anyone
Buddhism offers practical tools to help people find peace of mind, deal with stress, and understand themselves more deeply—it’s less about believing in something and more about experiencing a way of living that brings clarity and compassion.
Join us every 3rd Monday of the month at 6:00
Cancer Support
Who: Open to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers
A monthly support group for individuals affected by cancer, offering a space for emotional support and shared experiences. The last Tuesday of September and November.
SMART recovery
Who: Anyone in recovery or seeking recovery
There is not a scheduled regular group for this, but is offered as a one-on-one program.
- Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) is a global, science-based support group program for addiction recovery (substances, or behaviors like gambling, overeating) that focuses on self-empowerment, using tools from CBT and Motivational Interviewing to help people manage urges, thoughts, feelings, and build motivation for a balanced life, offering an alternative to 12-step programs.
- It’s free, secular, and emphasizes practical skills through its 4-Point Program: building motivation, coping with urges, managing thoughts/behaviors, and balancing life.

CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training)
Who: Family or friends of those with substance use disorder
CRAFT is a compassionate, non-confrontational, evidence-based intervention that helps family and friends develop effective strategies for helping their loved one who is struggling with substance use disorder and for feeling better themselves.
- Helps families move their loved one towards treatment (7 out of 10 loved ones enter into treatment as a result of CRAFT)
- Helps reduce the loved one’s alcohol and drug use
- Empowers you to influence change – trains you in behavior change skills
- Improves the lives of the concerned family and friends
