From creative expression to faith-based gatherings, fitness, and traditional recovery meetings, our goal is to create a safe, supportive space for everyone, no matter where you are in your recovery journey.

New Roots Glynn is led by peers in sustained long-term recovery from substance use disorder. We are here to offer check-ins, but not to counsel. We believe recovery should be self-directed and are here to support your journey.

All Recovery Meeting
Who: Anyone seeking recovery support
An All-Recovery format, inclusive of all pathways to recovery.
Talk openly about what you’re working on or want support with. Anyone in recovery, seeking recovery or supporting recovery is welcome to join us.
This is not a 12-step meeting – it is an open discussion format with no topic excluded (unless offensive to others) cross-talk/giving feedback is okay and referring to any substances is okay.
Grief Support
This support group is for people who have experienced the death of a loved one due to substance misuse.
You are welcome here no matter what your relationship to the person is or how drugs or alcohol took their life.
Our purpose is to help each other cope with our grief. A shared experience of tragedy brings us together, but we are each on our own journey, and our differences must be respected.
We help each other by sharing both the difficulties we face and how we cope with them.
Eating Disorder Support Group
PLEASE NOTE: This month’s meeting is Sunday, January 11th.
A welcoming space for individuals seeking connection, understanding, and encouragement in their recovery journey.
This group offers peer support, shared experiences, and resources to help foster healing and hope.
All are welcome—whether you’re beginning your path to recovery or continuing to build resilience.
Color a Smile
Color A Smile is a nonprofit organization that distributes cheerful drawings to nursing homes, hospitals, meals on wheels programs, our troops overseas, and anyone in need of a smile. Every month they mail thousands of new drawings to the recipients on their mailing list.
Since 1990, Color A Smile has given out millions of cheerful drawings. We hope you can join us in Coloring a Smile for someone in need of one!
Volunteer/Community Service
We offer volunteer opportunities and can also help peers fulfill their community service hours at the office, at our monthly food giveaway or at Tiny Thrift.

CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) BEGINS January 6, 2026
Who: Anyone
CRAFT is a compassionate, non-confrontational, evidence-based intervention that helps family and friends develop effective strategies for helping their loved one who is struggling with substance use disorder and for feeling better themselves.
- Helps families move their loved one towards treatment (7 out of 10 loved ones enter into treatment as a result of CRAFT)
- Helps reduce the loved one’s alcohol and drug use
- Empowers you to influence change – trains you in behavior change skills
- Improves the lives of the concerned family and friends
NAMI Family Support Group
Who: Anyone
A support group for family members, significant others, and friends of individuals with a mental health diagnosis.
Cancer Support
Who: Open to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers
A monthly support group for individuals affected by cancer, offering a space for emotional support and shared experiences.
Chair Yoga – All levels
Wind down on Mondays with Chair Yoga facilitated by Anne G.
Anyone can do this, you don’t even have to change your clothes!
Yoga improves flexibility, strength and balance. Improves bone health, reduces pain and risk of heart disease.
It aids in stress reduction, improved mood and mental clarity and sleep.
Yoga encourages mindfulness and introspection, leading to a deeper understanding of oneself.

Join us on Wednesdays to go for a run! This will be hosted by Keegan. All are welcome, run at your own pace.
Food Pantry and Monthly Giveaway
Where: Mary Ross Park, downtown Brunswick
PLEASE NOTE: This month’s food giveaway date is Thursday, January 22.
We have a food giveaway on the last Thursday of each month at Mary Ross Park at 11am until it’s gone.
If you need help in between those times, we have a food pantry at our office, by appointment only. Please call to make an appointment for a pick up.

Buddhism offers practical tools to help people find peace of mind, deal with stress, and understand themselves more deeply—it’s less about believing in something and more about experiencing a way of living that brings clarity and compassion.

SMART recovery
There is not a scheduled regular group for this, but is offered as a one-on-one program.
- Self-Management and Recovery Training) is a global, science-based support group program for addiction recovery (substances, behaviors like gambling, overeating) that focuses on self-empowerment, using tools from CBT and Motivational Interviewing to help people manage urges, thoughts, feelings, and build motivation for a balanced life, offering an alternative to 12-step programs. It’s free, secular, and emphasizes practical skills through its 4-Point Program: building motivation, coping with urges, managing thoughts/behaviors, and balancing life.
