At New Roots Glynn, we are more than just a recovery organization—we are a community of support, strength, and hope for those affected by Substance Use Disorder. As part of the Georgia Council for Recovery, we are a small but vital branch of a much larger movement that spans across the state of Georgia. Together with other Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs), we share a common mission: to increase the impact of recovery through education, advocacy, training, and peer recovery support services.
Our Mission
Our goal is to eliminate the stigma surrounding addiction and provide resources to individuals and families at every stage of their recovery journey. We believe that recovery is a process that requires compassion, community, and access to the right support systems—and that’s exactly what we strive to offer.
Our Founder
New Roots Glynn was founded in 2022 by Heather Woodard, who has experienced the challenges of addiction and recovery firsthand. Heather began by hosting All Recovery Meetings and other community events from her home, taking her work to men’s transitional programs and building connections across the area.
With unwavering support from the local community, Heather’s vision for a dedicated space where anyone in recovery could feel safe and supported became a reality. In April 2024, New Roots Glynn opened its doors at 1507 Reynolds Street in Brunswick, Georgia, welcoming individuals and families into a space designed for healing, learning, and growing together.
Our Vision for the Future
New Roots Glynn is committed to expanding our reach and continuing to provide free, accessible support to anyone seeking recovery. We are working to build a more resilient community that understands recovery is not a one-size-fits-all journey. Whether you need help getting into treatment, finding housing, or simply want to connect with others on a similar path, we are here for you.
